What guests need
A guest needs a compatible phone, a supported browser, enough battery for the tour, and internet access. Personal headphones or earbuds provide the clearest experience. The listener does not need a LiveTourAudio account and does not install a dedicated app.
Operators should communicate the headphone recommendation before arrival. A small supply of inexpensive wired earbuds, compatible adapters, and battery packs can cover common exceptions without maintaining a full receiver fleet.
Data and battery planning
Live audio uses mobile data throughout the tour. A reasonable planning estimate for the current mode is roughly 0.3 to 0.5 MB per minute, or approximately 20 to 30 MB per hour, though protocol overhead and reconnections can change the total.
Audio playback is usually less demanding than video, but older phones or weak-signal areas can consume more battery. Encourage guests to begin with a useful charge level and avoid unnecessary screen use after audio has started.
Keep a human fallback
Not every guest will arrive with the right phone, data plan, battery, or headphones. A good operating procedure has an exception path: pair a guest with a companion, lend a small number of prepared devices, or keep that guest close to the guide.
The goal is not to pretend the group is technically identical. It is to remove most equipment handling while preparing for the small number of guests who need help.
